Town Hall’s New Ad Raises Eyebrows After Resembling Local Outreach Campaign
Some say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
That phrase came to mind this week after Town Hall released a Facebook advertisement that bore a striking resemblance to a recent local outreach campaign. While there is no objection to public officials adopting messaging styles that connect with residents, the similarity did not go unnoticed.
To Town Hall: glad we could help with the ad strategy.
Now that the creative direction appears to be settled, perhaps that same energy can be redirected toward the work residents actually need most: listening to concerns, responding to issues, and improving the day-to-day services people rely on.
Residents deserve more than polished ads. They deserve follow-through, accountability, and a Town Hall focused on helping the community it serves.
If Town Hall is going to borrow ideas, residents can only hope it also borrows the commitment to engagement, responsiveness, and real problem-solving.
